Three players who were given way higher Madden ratings than they deserved
I love football and I love Madden Football, but let’s be real some of these grades are insane. I was crushed on Twitter because I said that Bobby Wagner was not worth a 99, I said he did not even lead the league in tackles, and he was not even given one vote to defensive player of the year, but was criticized heavily. Well I have went through some of the grades and I have to admit there are some really bad grades out there.
I wanted to bring up three players who I feel were given high grades and they are not deserved. Let’s get to the list:
Byron Jones, CB, Dallas Cowboys – Byron Jones is a workout warrior yeah we get it, but he is not the fifth best cornerback in the game. They have Jones as a 91 in the game. That is criminal. Everyone knows the Dallas Cowboys secondary is suspect minus Kavon Frazier who the team does not even play. This is insane to me and a huge slap in the face to guys like Chris Harris, Darius Slay, and Casey Hayward who have all been solid on the field.
Kareem Hunt, RB, Cleveland Browns – Hunt has not been on the field for a year, and has been in trouble, yet he is still rated higher than David Johnson and Alvin Kamara? Come on, this is crazy. Hunt has a 90 overall and that is a shame. The people at Madden cannot be looking at the same thing I am. Is he talented? Yes, but is he better than Kamara? HELL NO!
Telvin Smith, OLB, Jacksonville Jaguars – The guy is taking a year off from football and he has a better OLB rating then Leighton Vander Esch, and Darius Leonard who dominated last year. I am so confused by these ratings but Smith finished with an 88 when Leonard had an 84 and he was rookie of the year. The crazy thing is Vander Esch had a better grade that Leonard too. CRIMINAL!
