Jalen Thompson selected by the Cardinals in the 5th round of the NFL Supplemental Draft
Jalen Thompson had a strong career at Washington State where he recorded six career interceptions. In his Freshman year, Thompson recorded 51 tackles, three tackles for loss and seven pass break ups. He broke out in 2017, posting 73 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss and 4 interceptions. Last season, Thompson racked up 66 tackles, three tackles for loss, two INTs and 8 PBU’s.
The Cardinals have selected Jalen Thompson with their fifth round selection.
Thompson started 39 career games tallying up 191 total tackles, 23 passes defended, six picks and a pair of forced fumbles.
Several teams really showed a lot of interest in Thompson, but the Packers were one team that really did their homework. The Packers reportedly flew out the junior safety to their facility last week.
Other players in the Supplemental Draft are Marcus Simms WR West Virginia, Shyheim Cullen LB Syracuse, TE Devonaire Clarington and St. Francis DB Bryant Perry, and it is still ongoing.
