Could Redskins claim Desmond Harrison then trade Trent Williams to Cleveland?
Trent Williams wants to be traded from the Redskins according to sources. Williams is one of the highest paid players on their team and this move makes sense if they can find a replacement.
The Redskins can put in a waiver claim tomorrow for OT Desmond Harrison. It is not a guarantee they land him but if they do in fact land him I could see the Redskins trading Trent Williams.
What could the Redskins land for him? I think they could land a 3rd rounder for him. Imagine the Browns dropping a third round pick for a top left tackle? They have the money and the draft picks and they are in win now mode. This makes the most sense, and I think if the Skins can land Harrison who started last year for the Browns, they land a younger and cheaper left tackle who can come in and play from day one.
