Former Ball State Alumni Eric Patterson made it to the NFL and he was reportedly shot and killed according to multiple reports.

Patterson, who played for the Indianapolis Colts and was on the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams rosters over his career, was 26.

Todd Gurley and many other commented on the news. Please keep the Patterson family in your prayers.

Patterson played high school football at Plant High School and the head coach posted this tweet about him.

Eric followed us on Twitter and he was such a good and humble young man. He has a daughter, and the last tweet he posted was about his relationship with Jesus Christ. I please ask that you keep his family in your prayers.
