If the Jets do trade Le’Veon Bell these two teams make the most sense

Le’Veon Bell traded? That would be an insane storyline to start of the season, but many believe it could happen

Today there was a report that Le’Veon Bell could be traded before even taking a snap with the New York Jets. This report came from John Clayton, and after he reported it, Louis Riddick said that there would be teams interested in Bell’s services.

I started looking at rosters to see what team makes the most sense, and I came up with a couple teams that could make too much sense for the trade. One team is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While this move would not make sense, because the Buccaneers do not have a ton of cap, there are some ways they could make the trade happen.

The Buccaneers have Gerald McCoy and Vernon Hargreaves who could be trade pieces. If the Buccaneers could ship McCoy they would save 13 million dollars in cap. That would be a monster move and could allow the Jets to pair McCoy with Leonard Williams and Quinnen Williams. The way you win is in the trenches. I am not sure if the Buccaneers would be willing to part with either player but this makes sense.

Bell’s salary post June 1st would save the Jets if traded almost 7 million dollars. Let’s just say the Jets trade Le’Veon Bell and a 7th round pick to the Buccaneers for Vernon Hargreaves and Gerald McCoy. This trade would be wild, but the Jets defense would be nasty under Gregg Williams.

Another team that makes sense for Le’Veon Bell is the Green Bay Packers. While the Packers do not have tons of money it would be an instant upgrade at the running back position. Maybe the Packers trade a high draft pick for Bell, but the biggest question would be what would the Jets do at running back?

The Jets have Trenton Cannon and Elijah McGuire, but if they hang tight I am sure there will be some valuable people on the trade block or even released. Players that I could see released or traded are LeSean McCoy, Giovani Bernard or Joe Mixon, Duke Johnson, Doug Martin, Theo Riddick, and Jerrick McKinnon.

If the Jets were able to pull off a trade for Le’Veon Bell maybe they can swing a trade for a guy like Duke Johnson on the cheap and have him do the same thing that Le’Veon Bell is capable of, but at a fraction of the cost. If they trade with the Buccaneers they could land an All-Pro Defensive lineman and then trade a late round pick to the Browns for Duke. This would make the most sense.
