NFL Draft

Michigan defensive lineman Rashan Gary is still dealing with a shoulder injury

Michigan pass rusher Rashan Gary could be the draft’s biggest free faller come Thursday Night. Many projected him in the top 10 and he may not go in the first round now.

Many have Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary going in the top 10 of the 2019 NFL Draft, but Gary could be dropping according to the recent reports of his shoulder still being a problem.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media Insiders, Michigan’s pass rusher Gary was flagged for his shoulder.  The injury is a labral tear which he suffered in college, and many believe he can play through it this year but will require surgery after the season if they can manage it well enough.

Gary’s shoulder is an issue and although he was super athletic and shined at the Combine this could prevent teams from taking him early.  Gary missed several games in college due to his shoulder, so NFL teams will be on the look out. Shaq Lawson of the Bills was recently in a similar situation, he too was considered a top tier pass rusher but had a shoulder injury. He ended up falling to the Bills at pick 19. Many thought he too would be able to play through the season, but ended up requiring surgery. He missed the first six games of the season.

Gary has an up hill battle but will it cost him tons of money?
