Five teams that reached on Day 2 of the NFL Draft
I wanted to do five teams who had a good Day 2 of the NFL Draft, and five teams that did not do so well in my eyes in the 2019 NFL Draft, but only focusing on Day 2. So let’s check it out.
Houston Texans – Everyone was questioning their first-round pick, but I actually liked their first round pick, but I question their 2nd and 3rd round selections. Lonnie Johnson will be good, but they selected Max Scharping and Kahale Warring when there were other amazing players on the board. I know the Texans need to protect Deshaun Watson, but get him some help.
Seattle Seahawks – I mean yeah they landed DK Metcalf, but the other players they took they reached. Marquise Blair and Cody Barton are solid players but they could have waited to take them later in the draft, in my opinion. Seahawks have already proven they do not care what I think though.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Buccaneers went straight secondary. They drafted Mike Edwards, Jamel Dean and Sean Bunting. I like the players but I feel all were later draft picks. I had all of them rated in the fourth. Bunting I could see going in the third but not the second.
Cincinnati Bengals – The Bengals drafted a blocking tight end in the 2nd round. To me I am not going to say it is bad, you just don’t see that very often. I know the Bengals want to protect their quarterback, but it was a reach. I like Pratt the linebacker because they lost Vontaze, but I was shocked to see Drew Sample go 52 overall. Good thing the Bengals traded down because it would have been a huge reach at 42.
Detroit Lions – The Lions reached on Tavai from Hawaii. I love the player but in the 2nd round. I had him going in the fourth round. I think they Will Harris was a decent pick, but I could not get over Tavai going 43rd overall. Did they think someone was going to trade up to get him? I did not see that happening.
