Last night, the Tennessee Titans fans were caught cheating on an internet poll for Fox Sports where they bought votes in a poll to beat the Buffalo Bills fans to advance to Fox Sports Best Fan Base Championship. The Bills fans are interesting creatures, and an idea was formulated by the wife of newly signed football player LaAdrian Waddle and the creator of Del Reid to donate money to a Nashville based Children’s Center that works with children from the ages of 3-17 who suffered sexual abuse, as well as severe physical abuse.
The BillsMafia is what they call themselves and they have did this before. Remember they donated 415,000 dollars to Andy Dalton’s foundation hours after he beat the Ravens in a playoff game that helped the Bills advance to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.
The Bills fans began donating money anywhere from 6.60 to 71.60 and they continued through the night. I am a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and feel this story needs to be told. It is pretty awesome, so I reached out to the Nashville Children’s Alliance and asked her about the Bills fan base and to find out how much the Bills fans chipped in to help.
Well, I just spoke to the Director of the Nashville Chidren’s Alliance Named Latisha Broomfield, who was blown away when she came into work this morning. They received well over 8,000 dollars in donations as of this morning and donations were still pouring in.
BillsMafia does it once again, they prove that there is more to life than football, but everything circles around the wagons in Buffalo!
Bills fans pass 14k dollars
According to their website, it costs $133.33/month to sponsor a child. That means #BillsMafia has sponsored nearly 9 children for an entire year!
