Biggest winners and losers after the second day of the NFL Scouting Combine

Today the quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends were working out today at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and there were some amazing moments. There were a few huge winners and a few huge losers as well. Let’s take a look at our winners and losers from Day 2 of the Combine.

D.K. Metcalf is a MONSTER

Winners

D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss – This kid is a freak. He jumped out the gym, he looks like a MANIMAL, and he is fast as hell. This kid is a workout warrior and he is definitely the best wide receiver in the draft. He will go round 1, and likely in the top 10 after today’s performance.

Andy Isabella, WR, UMass – Fast, OH MY FAST should be this kids nickname. Andy Isabella was FLYING today. I was called by several scouts today after he ran a 4.31 and they said bro he ran faster than that. They said they had to reset the laser because something happened when he ran. They hand timed him in the 4.2’s, and three teams told me they had him anywhere from a 4.27 to a 4.31.

Noah Fant, TE, Iowa – Noah Fant looked the part. He was fast, ran in the 4.5’s. Shoot, he had a faster forty than many of the wide receivers. He jumped well and he caught his passes. This kid is a first-round pick and after today I would not be surprised if he goes top 20.

Tyree Jackson, QB, Buffalo – As you all know, I am a huge Buffalo fan and Tyree tore it up today. He ran an official 4.59 40 at 6-7, 249 pounds and had a 34-inch vertical jump. He has a big boy arm and may have just secured a spot in the top 4 rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has played in cold weather, and this could be a sleeper.

Emmanuel Hall, WR, Missouri – Hall balled out at the Combine. I think he is still broad jumping as he tied the record for the longest ever at 11’9 feet. The guy was a beast. He had hops, he was flying and he did well catching the ball.

The Ohio State receivers – Yes all the Buckeye receivers were amazing today. All were in the top 15 in almost every category. Now I understand how Dwayne Haskins is involved in the top 10 talk. He has some studs to work with. All three of his wide outs shined today.

Losers

Lil’Jordan Humphrey, WR, Texas – The kid was slow. He ran a 4.75 forty and if that was not bad enough his route running did not look great either. He was a little rough today and did not look the part. He had probably the worst day of the Combine at the wide receiver position.

Isaac Nauta, TE, Georgia – He looks a lot more explosive on the tape than he did today at the Combine. He ran a 4.91 forty, repped 225 pounds only 19 times and had 28-inch vertical. Being he is only 6030 and 244 pounds, I thought he would have put up better numbers but that was not the case.

Kaden Smith, TE, Stanford – Smith just fell apart today. I thought he would be another player that would shine and he struggled badly in my opinion. He came in at 6’5, 255 lbs, 32.25″ arms, 4.92 40-yard dash, 15 bench reps, 32″ vertical, 108″ broad jump, 7.08 3-cone, 4.47 short shuttle

Kelvin Harmon, WR, North Carolina State – Some were putting this guy in the first round. After watching today I cannot do that. He is in a tough wide receiver class, but he struggled all the way around in my opinion. He lacks burst and has some work to do before his pro day.
