Every year when NFL Free Agency begins, teams throw money around like it is going out of style. Well this year Free Agency was led by some huge trades, but we wanted to talk about five players who are super underrated pick-ups. Let’s talk about the five most underrated signings in free agency.
L.J. Fort, LB, Philadelphia Eagles – Eagles just lost Jordan Hicks to the Arizona Cardinals, but this kid right here is going to fill in and I believe will do better than Hicks. Fort was a former running back in high school, he is a fast player, and if you remember his first ever game for the Cleveland Browns he had a pick and a sack on Michael Vick who played for the Eagles. I love this pickup, because he will be a beast in Jim Schwartz wide 9 defense.
Ha Ha Clinton Dix, S, Chicago Bears – The Bears were awesome last season and now you add Ha Ha with Eddie Jackson in that Bears defense. I am sorry the Bears are contenders after this move. This was a huge signing. Everyone is talking about Landon Collins, Tyrann Mathieu, and others but this is the best safety signing in my opinion. He will love to go up against the Packers twice a year too!
Nick Foles, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars – Yep, the people are going to say that I am tripping, but let me explain. Foles does not make many mistakes, he is going to a team that has almost everything in place. I have a feeling this team is on the right path. That defense is gross, all Foles has to do is not turn the ball over, he won’t make many mistakes. This is a great pick-up.
Jason Verrett, CB, San Francisco 49ers – Jason Verrett has been hurt quite a bit in his career, but I feel this kid is a shut-down corner. He will get to learn from Richard Sherman, and it will make him fall in love with football. Similar to Pierre Desir, who recently signed a huge deal with the Colts. After being paired with Sherman in Seattle, he became a better student of the game. Verrett is my breakthrough player in 2019. Remember this article!
Cole Beasley, WR, Buffalo Bills – As you know I am a huge Bills fan, but this pick up is exactly what Josh Allen needed. He has a huge arm to go deep but he was not able to check down very much because his players could not create separation, Beasley will be a huge addition to the Bills and I feel he will finish with the most receptions in the AFC East.
