Biggest Winners of Free Agency Tampering Period

Cleveland Browns – We heard the Browns were going to go in and do everything they can to win the Super Bowl before the current CBA expires, and they are doing just that. The Browns made two trades with the Giants that added Olivier Vernon and Odell Beckham Jr.  This trade was huge for the Browns, and it instantly helps the Browns right now. If the Browns can land Earl Thomas now, they are instant favorites to win the AFC North.

Green Bay Packers FANS – For years, the Green Bay Packers did not sign free agents. They went into every free agency and their fan would refresh twitter pages and new source pages hoping their team would sign a free agent. This Tampering Period was a huge change for them. They added to very solid pass rushers in Za’Darius Smith, and Preston Smith, they also added an offensive lineman in Billy Turner and safety Adrian Amos.  The Packers made moves and I know the fans had to be happy to see their team doing something.

Nick Foles – Are you kidding me, Nick Foles was a huge winner in Free Agency. The man landed 22 million dollars a year, and was given the keys to the Jaguars team. The Jaguars are a sweet team to be the quarterback for. They have tons of depth on their roster and that defense is gross.  Foles does not make many mistakes and that has to have the Jaguars fans smiling. Foles cashed in because the market was so poor.

Tier 2 Free Agents getting paid Tier 1 money – Yep, I said it, many players I think are tier 2 type of players got paid. Guys like Trey Flowers landing a contract for 90 million, guys like Landon Collins landing a five year mega deal, and they are not even top ten guys at their position in my opinion. NFL teams have needs and tons of money and that makes them spend the money like a kid landing his first quarter. Tons of money was given out and it was not neccessary.

New England Patriots – The Patriots piss me off, because they are so smooth. They sat back in free agency and did not do anything. They let Trey Flowers walk (Who I think they can replace quickly), Trent Brown walk (Who they definitely can replace), Cordarelle Patterson walk (They already have replacements), and Eric Rowe walk (He was not that great), and they are going to land several draft picks as Compensatory Picks. They get it, and they are amazing. Watch them sign some tier 3 guys and get right back to the playoffs.
