If Steelers/Bills trade rumors were true, the Steelers just screwed themselves

The Buffalo Bills are now officially out of the Antonio Brown race, and the only team that won this deal is the Bills fan base!

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills drama began last night when NFL Media Insiders reporter Ian Rapoport posted that the Bills and Steelers had a deal in place to send the All-Pro WR to the Bills. A moment after the rumor was posted, Antonio Brown himself took to Instagram to post a comment saying “Fake News”.

Daniel Jeremiah said the trade would likely be a swapping of picks, which would have gave the Bills the 20th pick and allowed the Steelers to pick 9th overall in 2019. If that was in fact true, that would have been a monster trade for the Bills.

We all know that Buffalo is not the free agency destination that players dream of, but the fanbase is by far one of the most dedicated ever. As a BillsMafia member myself, the city and team are crushed because of weather, but it is not that bad. Yes, it has some cold weather, but the area is beautiful and the fan base LOVE THE TEAM. With that being said….

As the night went on, many reporters were coming out saying the deal was still not agreed upon. The crazy thing is by this morning the Bills were all the way out of the trade because Antonio Brown did not want to come to Buffalo. If this did in fact happen the Steelers screwed themselves by giving Antonio Brown the option.

The Steelers wanted to have Antonio Brown traded before Friday and they had a deal in place before midnight last night. The thing is the teams may have agreed to compensation, but the player himself was not feeling the city. The Bills then pulled out of the race, which could end up being a huge blow to the Steelers. Why is that?

Right now, the only teams that have shown interest in Antonio Brown are the Bills (OUT), Packers, Patriots, Raiders, and Redskins according to all the reports of who is in and out. The Packers would be a good fit for him, but who knows what they would be willing to give up. If Antonio Brown does not want to play in Washington or Oakland then it could be down to the Packers and Patriots. Remember Antonio Brown can retire. If he does in fact retire, he will have to pay back 11 million dollars but he can walk out right now?

If you were a team like the Steelers would you rather have a higher pick for the player or making sure the guy is not in your division?

If I was the GM, I would want the higher pick. I feel the Steelers screwed themselves. They gave Antonio Brown the keys to the car, and he is reckless right now.
