Birmingham Iron lose their first game of the season, attendance drops over 10k than normal
Birmingham Iron were not able to get a win today against the San Antonio Commanders. The game was a tough fought battle but the Iron came up short with a little under 2 minutes left in the game. The final score was Birmingham 11 – San Antonio 12.
The Iron were not the only thing that took a beating, their attendance dropped as well. Birmingham has registered over 17,000 fans twice this year, and in their third home game of the season the Iron only had 6,539 in attendance. It was the worst hit of the year for any AAF game.
Trent Richardson scored his seventh touchdown of the season rushing, but it was not enough to get past the Commanders. Birmingham Iron will take on the Orlando Apollos next week on Primetime, as the 3-1 Iron will face the undefeated Apollos.
