Indianapolis Colts draft needs: 5 small schoolers who can turn the Colts around

The Indianapolis Colts looked amazing under the first year of Frank Reich. Andrew Luck returned to normal form and Eric Ebron was a pleasant surprise in free agency.

The Indianapolis Colts looked amazing under the first year of Frank Reich. Andrew Luck returned to normal form and Eric Ebron was a pleasant surprise in free agency. The Colts struck gold in last year’s draft with one small school player Darius Leonard who finished as defensive rookie of the year, and we feel if the Colts can add these five small schoolers this year they will be Super Bowl Contenders.

The Colts needs are Cornerback, Wide Receiver, Safety, Defensive Tackle, and Pass Rusher.

Gilbert Gildersleeve, CB, Angelo State – The Indianapolis Colts do a great job at finding under the radar prospects. A few years ago they drafted Denzelle Good from Mars Hill who is still on the Raiders roster today. Gilbert Gildersleeve from Angelo State is a kid with good size and playmaking ability. He stands over 6000 and plays much like Pierre Desir who is an upcoming free agent. Gildersleeve will likely be an undrafted free agent, but he can come in and shine from day one.

Jesper Horsted, WR, Princeton – I love me some Jesper Horsted, he has break away ability and big time hands. He is good ole mister reliable at the wide receiver position. I love his attitude off the field and scouts tell me he is a leader. You have to love that about a wide receiver. The Colts may have to use a late round pick on Horsted, but they will not be disapointed.

Justin Wyatt, S, Limestone College – Justin Wyatt is a HUGE defensive back who will straight up take your head off. The 6020 safety played wide receiver at Troy before converting to a hard hitting safety at Limestone College in South Carolina. Remember his name, he can fly and straight up annihilate people. Wyatt right now is considered a priority free agent, which would be a steal for the Colts.

Alec Heldreth, DT, Clarion – Colts love sleepers and Alec Heldreth is a guy to keep an eye one. His motor does not turn off. He may not be the biggest guy but his heart is HUGE. He reminds me of Kyle Williams the former Buffalo Bills defensive lineman. He can be a great rotational guy and likely will be an undrafted guy.

Noah Dawkins, Edge, The Citadel – Noah Dawkins reminds me a lot of the first player I ever scouted in Adrian Hamilton. He stands just under 6020, but he has a knack for getting after the quarterback. With Dawkins across from Darius Leonard and company the Colts would have a force on their front seven. Dawkins is likely a priority free agent after the draft, and he can likely come in and contribute day one.
