Diamond Report
Overview
Walters has overcome adversity on & off the ball field.
Formally a highly recruited star to Mizz as a rookie sky was the limit for this athletic tough back as a rookie. As he looked to expand his role as a Sophomore Walters was involved in possessing a credit card device & was let go by Mizz before what was supposed to be Walters breakout season. After the dust settled he wound up at Alabama A&M with a struggling small school team. Then after he got transferred he had a season-ending ACL injury in 2016 season then in 2017 he was part of a not very good AAM program. Still managed 408 yds on the ground in limited play. Walters managed to maintain straight A’s three years in a row after the incident. Then finally after so much adversity & circumstance Walters was able to persevere having a breakout season this past year in 2018 Avg an impressive 6.3 ypc 661 yd’s & 7 TD’s while having a couple 150 plus yd games showing the potential of this talented prospect.
In the Run Game
Built well low center of gravity, power & insane breakaway speed Walters is a back that can pound the rock between the tackles or burn right past defenders. Patient runner waits for blocks to materialize weaves his way around blocks with agility constant acceleration. Good bend & burst off the snap.
In the Pass Game, Blocking & ST
Not used a ton in the passin game as AAM used many different guys in that role of out the backfield or short yardage receiver. The little I see I think he can be a special threat in the aspect. Stout 5’10 225 lb frame puts him at a good size to be effective in the pass block game. He could be a good fast big back to have on special teams coverage or return teams. Leaves much to be desired I would have to see much more of this to make a true evaluation in the passing game. Although I have seen him block believe he can be
Summary
Walters went from a “ complementary role in 2017 to win the starting role this past season. As part of a great backfield that also included JR standout, Jordan Bentley. He has worked his way back both on & off the field. Walters made the most of opportunities, limited at times. Alabama A&M is known to use a lot of the roster. Which has seem to work quite well this past year. Even using multiple QB’s in games which seems counterproductive to me but they
