NFL Draft

Best RB’s in 2019 NFL Draft | Who do we have as the best in the Draft?

Michigan

5. Karan Higdon: Michigan

Higdon decided to return for his Senior season to raise his stock in the NFL Draft. Standing under six foot and under 195 pounds he isn’t your big powerful back. In 3 seasons he has totaled just 1,438 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns. He has yet to be a full-time starter but his Junior year was when Michigan called his number the most, And he did deliver when called upon. Scouts will look to see if he can maintain some consistency in his game so he can improve on his numbers and show he can get better year by year.

OSU

4. Mike Weber: Ohio State

Weber is under six foot but over 210 pounds, And he has good speed and good strength. Weber was red-shirted his freshman season. In two seasons he has totaled 1,722 yards on just 283 carries and 19 rushing yards. Has a total of 1,907 yards from scrimmage. He may enter the draft after his Junior season or stay. I think it will depend on how his season progresses. Weber is shifty in the open field and very good when the ball is in his hands and in space. But he isn’t very strong in the short yardage game.

OKS

3. Justice Hill Oklahoma State

Hill is another Junior but is a smaller back, Under six foot and under 200 pounds. But has produced in his first two seasons. As well improved from his freshman year to his sophomore year. After Hill’s first two years he has totaled 2,609 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns. Has a total of 2,845 yards from scrimmage and 22 total touchdowns. I have issues with Hill’s pass blocking game and the fact he is in the Big 10 Conference where it’s very well known they don’t play much defense.

Stanford

2. Bryce Love: Stanford University

Love is my number 2 running back and is at his best when he is in the open field. Love is a very hard ball carrier to get to the ground, Not cause he’s overly strong but he is very elusive when he is in 1 on 1 situations. Behind the line Love possesses great vision to find the small hole to creep through. I’d like to see more of his receiving game to say he’s a very good back out the backfield. Love has totaled 3,126 yards rushing and 24 touchdowns on 403 attempts for over 7.5 per carry average. I believe Bryce wanted to come back for his Senior year to show scouts he wasn’t just a one year wonder.

alabama

1. Damien Harris: Alabama University

Now I may be the only one that will have Harris over Love. But the reasons why are kinda simple in my eyes. Harris has never been the full time starter. He’s the number 1 back on the depth chart but the way Alabama runs their offense they split carries between 2 backs and even 3 backs at times. His freshman season he was behind Bo Scarbrough and Heisman winner Derrick Henry on the roster. Harris in year 2 and 3 has passed one thousand yards rushing, Never going under 7.0 yards per carry. After his sophomore year scouts were worried about speed and his ability to score. His Junior year he came back faster and showed that he could score with 11 rushing touchdowns. But he was able to run by an entire defense with multiple runs over 50 yards. Scouts and teams shouldn’t expect a Senior season of over 1,500 yards rushing. Largely in part due to splitting the ball with Najee Harris and Brian Robinson. But through his Junior season he was holding up numbers with runners like Bryce Love and Saquon Barkley all had similar numbers.
