STATS Inc, released their top three finalists for the Walter Payton Award which is handed out to the best offensive player in the D1 subdivision.
Three quarterbacks will travel to Frisco, Texas on January 4th, 2019 for the announcement to see who will win the award. The three quarterbacks are Easton Stick of North Dakota State, Chandler Burks of Kennesaw State and Devlin Hodges of Samford.
While Stick is still in the playoffs, I feel Hodges should be the guy to get the award. He set the surpassed Steve McNair in career passing yards this season with 14,584 career passing yards. Hodges also set FCS records for career completions and attempts. He owns 23 of Samford’s records.
