NFL Draft Diamonds Prospect Interview: Devonta Archer, WR, Trinity international University
NFL Draft Diamonds has interviewed some of the best small schoolers to make it to the NFL. Last year our team interviewed over 750 players from NAIA to the FBS. This year we went to NFL teams scouts for every question on this interview. Ten NFL scouts who are avid readers of Draft Diamonds put this interview together for our readers pleasure. Tell us about your hometown, and what you love most about it?
- My hometown is Harvey, IL. The things I love about Harvey is my home church Outreach and my family
List these three in order of importance and why: Film Study, Strength and Conditioning and Practice?
- Strength and Conditioning would be my first because the better shape I’m in, the better I can perform in practice
What do you worry about, and why?
- I work hard so I don’t have to worry
Give me an example of when you failed at something. How did you react and how did you overcome failure?
- I wasn’t eligible for 2017-2018 season. It forced me to work harder. I got more focus in my books and got eligible the next season
What do your teammates say is your best quality?
- My teammates would say my best quality is leadership. I lead by example on and off the field
Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
- Michael Franzese from St. Thomas university in Minnesota.
What would your career be if you couldn’t play football?
- If I couldn’t play football anymore I would definitely be a coach. I love teaching, inspiring and helping other people.
Room, desk and car – which do you clean first?
- Room
If there was a disaster and you could either save three strangers or one family member, which would you choose and why?
- I would save my one family member and hope I can save the other three
If you could be any television or movie character, who would you be and why?
- Gladiator, he never gave up when things got tough
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
- My biggest adversity in life was being homeless and having nowhere to go. I dealt with it by praying and reading the bible everyday. One day God gave me a direction
What is your most embarrassing moment?
- My most embarrassing moment is when I went on a date with this girl and I left my wallet at home
What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?
- My most memorable play of my collegiate career is my sophomore year at Merced College. We were facing Hartnell College who were 5-0 at the time. I scored the game winning touchdown to put us ahead
What song best describes your work ethic?
- I put on for my city – Young Jeezy
If you could bring one person back from the dead for one day, who would it be and why?
- I would bring back my grandmother. Just for her to see how good her kids and grandchildren are doing
Who is the most overrated player in the NFL?
- Vontae Davis because I felt it was a coward move to quit on your team at halftime
Would you rather be liked or respected, and why?
- I rather be respected because respect is earned and a man with morals and values wont be like by everyone
What player who had his career derailed by off-field issues do you feel for the most and why?
- Tim Tebow, he was prosecuted for his faith and his standing up for what he believed in.

- Hate to lose

- My father has the biggest influence on my life because he paved the way for me to be where I’m at now
