The Washington Redskins lost rookie running back Derrius Guice to a freak knee injury, and while their head coach said he would not be in the market for a veteran running back, today he is hosting several vets.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Redskins have veteran running backs Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles in for a visit today. They also have RB’s Lenard Tillery and Orleans Darkwa in for a visit.
The Redskins could use a running back with Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall both going down with ankle injuries in the second preseason game.
Right now Rob Kelley is penciled in as the starter for week 1. The Redskins could be in a world of hurt with all these injuries happening. Could the 33 year old Peterson or 31 year Charles work as a stop gap for a year?
