Scouting Report – Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
Background: Allen attended Firebaugh High school, in Firebaugh California. Allen was a multi-sport athlete, exceling at Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Allen did not receive any Division-1 offers, so he opted to attend Reedley Junior College. After drawing comparisons to Carson Wentz, Cowboys HC Craig Bohl offered Allen a scholarship. In Allen’s first year in Wyoming he only started one game before suffering a broken collarbone, ending his season. Allen cam in the next year as the Cowboys QB, throwing for 3,200 yards and 32 touchdowns. After receiving first round hype, Allen considered entering the 2017 Draft, but eventually opted to stay at school. After a year considered by many a disappointing year, Allen has declared for the 2018 NFL Draft, and is expected to attend the Senior Bowl.

Comparison: Aaron Rodgers/Blake Bortles: Allen posses the mobility, ability to make throws on the run, and keep his eyes up field from Rodgers. But also has the arm strength, height, and decision making that Bortles has.
In the NFL: Allen’s pure talent will have him considered as a top 10 pick, but a team that drafts him must be aware of his faults, if they want to develop him to his full potential. For Allen to reach his full potential, he should go to a team in a coaching situation that is offense oriented, with coaches who have developed QB’s in that past, and can do it again. Allen is not a day-1 starter in the NFL. It would be ideal for Allen if he went to a situation where he can learn behind a QB for at least half a season. Allen has the best arm I have ever seen in my time scouting QB’s. If Allen reaches his potential, he could be one of the best QB’s in the NFL.
