Chiefs new quarterback believes he is not that far away from NFL ready
What is NFL ready? To me NFL ready is a player who knows the playbook by the back of his hand, can make every read, and understands defenses. Maybe I am a little tough since, I do scout football every day. Well yesterday in an interview with Pro Football Talk, Josh Alper asked Patrick Mahomes the Chiefs first round pick, if he was NFL ready, and is response was a little shocking.
“I don’t know if I’m that far away, it’s more about me continuing to work and keep getting better,” Mahomes said, via Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk. “These veterans are guys that have been in the league, been around and have been very successful. In order to be like them, I’ve got to go as hard as they do and catch up to them.”
I think that Mahomes has to say he is NFL ready, but I am not sure he is close to being ready after watching his film from college, unless they have a QUARTERBACK god in Kansas City.
