Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey was a beast today
NFL Combine Day 1 Top Positional Winners
Day 1 of the Combine is in the books and it is officially on. Today we saw one of the weakest groups in the class, the offensive line, and one of the strongest position groups in the running backs. Here are two guys who stood out in their respective position group.
Garett Bolles OT Utah:
- Coming into today Bolles was at the top of many people’s boards. The knock on Bolles was his lack of experience and his age (24) . Bolles showed great athletic ability starting with his 40-yard dash, running 4.95 which was second among offensive lineman. Bolles also tested first among his class in the broad jump, jumping 115 inches. If that was not enough Bolles showed his quickness by being again at the top of his class finishing the 3 cone drill in 7.29 seconds. Bolles solidified his position as a top tackle in this class and giving himself a real possibility of going in the first round.
Christian McCaffrey RB Stanford:
- Christian McCaffrey has been in the minds of scouts for about two years now, and he did not disappoint. Christian McCaffrey is “do it all back” McCaffrey can run the ball, he can catch, and he can return. McCaffrey opened up his workout running a solid 4.48 which was tied for 4th in the class. McCaffrey also dominated in the receiving drills, not letting the ball go anywhere near the ground, and showing nice soft hands and quick feet coming out of his breaks. With such a loaded class McCaffrey’s draft stock was in danger but after this performance it is hard not to see McCaffrey go in the first round.
