Patriots tried to trade Jamie Collins for DeAndre Hopkins; Then asked about Johnathan Joseph
The New England Patriots are wheelers and dealers and I love their strategy. They will get on the phone and start calling teams that are having some bad luck with certain players. They will trade one of their stars and in return hope to land a guy that no one was expected to be traded.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this weekend that the New England Patriots offered their former star linebacker, Jamie Collins, in exchange for Hopkins last October, but the Texans nixed the potential deal.
Rapoport added that the Pats also explored a potential deal involving CB Johnathan Joseph, whom the team reportedly “loves.” After everything fell through the Patriots traded Jamie Collins for a third round pick.
Imagine the Hopkins of 2015 (111 catches for 1,521 yards and 11 TDs) on the other end of Brady’s passes. That would be a scary thought for the rest of the NFL, good thing it did not happen….Man.
