Jason Thompson 

What is your Height/Weight? 

6’2 215

What is your position? 

Strong safety

Where do you play college football? 

University of Utah

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field? 

The coolest thing I was able to do was to feed the homeless with my teammates in San Francisco on Christmas

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

The hardest class I ever took was chemistry

Where are you from? 

I am from Renton, Washington

Who is your role model, and why? 

My older brother Everrette is my role model because he taught me self discipline and hard work

Did you play any other positions in football? 

I also played quarterback, running back, and played some receiver in college as well

At your position, what separates you from others? 

What separates myself from others is my ability to be moved around as well as still play fundamental football

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

As a safety group we look for tendencies versus down and distances as well as tells from alignment and stances

Who was the toughest player you ever faced? 

The toughest player I ever faced was my own teammate Marcus Williams. He competes in absolutely everything he does

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why? 

I would like to say I could be like a Sua Cravens type of player that can play safety but can also play in the box.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it? 

The biggest obstacle I faced was switching positions after my redshirt sophomore season but I was able to overcome it by the help of my teammates, and determination to help my team get better.

Do you have any pre-game rituals? 

I don’t have any pregame rituals, I’m pretty calm and focused

What is your biggest strength? 

My biggest strength is that I can come in and play safety or linebacker depending on whatever the team needs as well as I can come in and play on every special teams unit.

What is your biggest weakness? 

A weakness I’m working on diligently is my man to man coverage. I don’t think your man coverage can ever be perfect but its in that pursuit we continue to work on it

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say? 

I am a player that can come in and contribute right away on special teams as well as I am a guy that will do anything to get this team a Super Bowl

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up? 

My favorite player to watch was Sean Taylor

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose? 

If I could have dinner with 3 people it would be The Rock, Eric Thomas the hip hop preacher, and Sean Taylor. The Rock and Eric Thomas because of the knowledge they could share and Sean Taylor because he was my favorite player

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

The first big item I’d purchase is pay my parents house off.
