Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?
I did some charity work for some kids to win a trip to Disney World with my team at the NSIC basketball tournament. I got to sell programs for kids and I got watch some good basketball at the same time.
What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?
Where are you from?
Who is your role model, and why?
My parents because I grew up not having much and I watched them work their tails off for us to get by every day. I am the man I am today because of them. I owe everything to them.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
Besides football, just basketball.
Did you play any other positions in football?
In pop warner I played RB/OLB, high school I played WR/SS.
At your position, what separates you from others?
Staying disciplined in my technique, eye speed, confident, having that “beast” mentality and being a ball hawk.
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
I look for the WR tendencies such as where he is aligned at on the field, how the offense likes to use him in certain situations, his favorite routes, does he like to block, is he physical or is he soft. For the QB’s I like to look at his line q, like his 3 step, 5 step, play action. I want to know who is his favorite target is.
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
Vince Mayle, Sierra Junior College, currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
Asante Samuel because he put on for the small corners. He was very instinctive and when he would catch you slipping he would make you pay for it.
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
In high school I got a staph infection that turned into MRSA and put me in the hospital for a month in my senior year of high school football. I thought my career in football was over because senior year is the most important in high school football. I got through because of my dad and the lord. We prayed on it and went back training and everything played out just the way God wanted it to.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I like to get in a quick light workout to get my blood flowing and some field work so my feet right and I like to listen to Mozzy and Boosie before all games.
What is your biggest strength?
My heart, I believe I can handle any task in front of me.
What is your biggest weakness?
My emotion, people say I wear it on my sleeve but I’m just passionate about the game.
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
I’m here to be the best. I’m not satisfied with just being here. Every day I wake up working to be better than yesterday.
Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?
Favorite player: Charles Woodson. Favorite Team: Raiders
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?
My 3 older sisters. I haven’t seen them in years.
What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?
Make sure all my parents’ bills and debts are paid off.
