What is your name?

Tyree Stone-Davis

What is your Height/Weight?

6’3 195lb

What is your position?

Where do you play college football?

Eastern Illinois University

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

The coolest thing I’ve done off the field would have to be just giving words of wisdom to younger teammates. Influencing them in a positive way. Using my knowledge about God, life and football to help them become better people as well as football players.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

The hardest college class I ever had to take was a math class I took at LA Pierce Community College

Where are you from?

Philly Frankford

Who is your role model, and why?

I really don’t have a role model. I just strive to be the best person I can possibly be everyday.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Yes I played basketball and baseball.

Did you play any other positions in football?

Yes, every position except for Center.

At your position, what separates you from others?

At my position what separates me from others is my size, athleticism, and speed at the Cornerback position. Not often do you see a 6’3 Cornerback who can run with any  wide receiver and blanket them.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

When I’m breaking down film I look to see the strength and weaknesses of the WR’s I will be playing against to help me get an idea how I can use my skill and impose my will on them. Next I breakdown the formations and route concepts I see which will make my job easier come game day. Lastly I study the QB looking for his strengths and weaknesses to give me an idea on his favorite WR and how he throws certain passes.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

I faced quite a few tough players in my career thus far. But the ones that stick out to me the most are my twin brother Tyrin, my friend Jaelen Strong WR for the Houston Texans, WR Corey Davis All-American WR for Western Michigan University.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I really can’t compare myself to any player in the NFL because I have yet to reach my peak and I know in my heart I can be the best CB ever. But there are a few players in the NFL at my position who I study a lot and admire their game. Darrelle Revis, Richard Sherman, Aqib Talib, Josh Norman, Marcus Peters, Vontae Davis, Xavier Rhodes, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Joe Haden.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle in my life I’m getting closer to overcoming is conquering myself. I believe if we can conquer ourselves we can reach our maximum potential as people and athletes. And it’s not an easy task, if it was an easy task everybody would be Elite.

tyree1Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I really don’t have any exact pre-game rituals. I just watch football highlights of my favorite NFL Cornerbacks. Listen to my favorite rapper Meek Mill. Go outside on the field and just zone out and watch the opposing teams WR’s run routes.

What is your biggest strength?

My biggest strength would be my kind heart.

What is your biggest weakness?

Not sure.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I would say I’m a kind hearted child of God who knows in my heart I’m destined for Greatness with my size, speed, athleticism, and me conquering myself I know I can be the best Cornerback ever.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

My favorite players gr wing up was Michael Vick, T.O, and Antonio Cromartie. My favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

Floyd Mayweather, Richard Sherman, and Nnamdi Asomugha.

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

One of my goals is to buy my mom a big house and a car.

Rapid Answers

  • Who is Better: Tom Brady or Peyton Manning?
  • Who will win the Super Bowl this year? Oakland Raiders
  • Who is Better: Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith?
  • Who will win MVP in NFL? Matt Ryan
  • Who is Better: Deion Sanders or Richard Sherman? I’ve never seen Deion Sanders play other than his football highlights on YouTube. But I clearly see Richard Sherman’s greatness on live tv so I’d have to say Sherm.
