Gabbert is not happy about getting benched for Colin Kaepernick

Blaine Gabbert is a competitor and he is not happy about getting benched.  He was told the news by the coaching staff, and yesterday the 49ers who usually have their televisions on the NFL Network in the Locker Room turned the T.V.’s off out of respect for Gabbert.  Gabbert talked to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com and told him he was not too happy.

“It sucks,” Gabbert said, via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. “I don’t like it. I don’t like not playing. I’m very forward about that.

“But, at the same time, I’m going to work the same way I’ve always worked the three years I’ve been here. Put my best foot forward. Still continue to prepare. I’m not going to slack on the film work just because I’m not playing.”

“I gave it my best shot,” Gabbert said. “It wasn’t good enough. We didn’t win enough football games. We didn’t score enough points on the offensive side of the ball. That’s the way it goes. It’s a tough situation and coach Kelly had to make a call.”

Kaepernick will start this week against the red hot Buffalo Bills, and if he plays well Gabbert may never get another shot.
