Patriots third string QB suffered an injured thumb; Conflicting reports

Julian Edelman has a broken foot, and will undergo surgery tomorrow

Could this really happen? Could Julian Edelman be the Patriots QB against Buffalo?

Man this is insane. So far, Jimmy G and Jacoby Brissett have the Patriots at 3-0, but the Patriots could have another problem. According to Mike Petraglia, Jacoby Brissett will need surgery to fix a torn right thumb ligament. That is his throwing hand which means the Patriots could be looking at Julian Edelman as their quarterback next week against the Bills.

Patriots’ source texts @diannaESPN about Jacoby Brissett’s thumb injury, “No tear, it’s fine.”
