The Miami Dolphins have released their seventh round draft pick. According to Joe Schad, the Dolphins have released Brandon Doughty the former Western Kentucky gun slinger that was drafted in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Dolphins needed Jones who was not very consistent in pre-season due to the injury to Earl Mitchell. With Mitchell sidelined at least 6 weeks, Miami needed added depth on the defensive interior line.

Doughty is a candidate for the practice squad if he clears waivers.
