There was a report today that came out from Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report where NFL GM’s spoke out about Colin Kaepernick. One even called him a traitor.
“I don’t want him anywhere near my team,” one front office executive said. “He’s a traitor.”
Several NFL team executives told Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman that they believe it is only a matter of time before the Niners release Kaepernick due to “external pressure.” Many believe that Kaepernick will be released sooner rather than later.
I am not mad at Kaepernick, and I have to tell you I believe he has every right to speak about certain issues and freely, because that is what our country allows us to do. I do not feel he is taking shots at the military because he has been very gracious to the military in the past. If you honestly think that African Americans are not stereotyped though, you are crazy. I want to share a little story with you:
I went to a diversity training a long time ago for the Federal Government and tons of employees were there. The man in the front of the room was a white man. He said to the class, we are going to speak about diversity in the workplace. What is diversity in the workplace? Everyone was quiet, no one raised their hands, so the instructor of the class said who in this room wants to be treated like a “Black Man”?
Not one person raised their hand. The man then looked at everyone in the group and said there you go. I just wanted to show you that there is a problem. Why doesn’t anyone want to be treated like a black man? One white lady stood up and said because they are stereotyped a lot.
I just wanted to share that story because it is an issue folks. Kaepernick has people talking about a real issue for days. This is more than we have ever done in the past. Some realize it is an issue, while others continue to neglect it. Were all his comments correct, Hell No. But he does have a point here. Is it what some NFL teams want around their locker room? NO…
Shoot, NFL teams thought Tim Tebow brought too much attention, yet the guy never caused any issues. So let’s face it, if he is not given another opportunity, what will he do?
I want to know what you think, if Kaepernick is cut loose by the 49ers do you think he will get another shot?
