RG3 says his experience with Redskins helped him build character

RG3 is a good quarterback even though he struggled in DC

This week Robert Griffin III, the Browns starting quarterback who was benched in D.C. for Kirk Cousins told Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com that he’s a”grittier” player now.  The former Baylor gunslinger talks about his mishaps in the Nation’s Capitol, and admits his problems with Redskins helped build character.

“I think I’m just grittier… all the experiences I had in Washington helped build character, because character isn’t anything that you just show, it’s what happens when no one’s watching. It’s what you do when you have to go through something. I think what happened to me there built that up in me.”

“We want to be a gritty football team here in Cleveland, the ability to play in any kind of weather, to play at any time. Want to play on the blacktop? We’ll play you there. That’s what coach preaches, and that’s what was built up in me through my time in Washington to where I can just come out and play and have fun.”

Last night RG3 did a great job marching the Browns down the field, but did throw a pick on the one yard line, when Micah Hyde made an amazing interception cutting in front of Gary Barnidge. I think RG3 will be just fine.
