The Detroit Lions announced the release of veteran RB Stevan Ridley on Thursday.
After back-to-back stellar seasons in 2012 and 2013 with the New England Patriots, Ridley suffered an ACL tear. Since that injury he has not been the same. Ridley played last year for the Jets and was horrible, averaging 2.5 yards a carry.
He was signed by the Lions to help bolster their running game, and he could not make the final cut.
