Garrett: Collins or Martin Could Change Positions If Needed.
La’el Collins or Zack Martin at tackle? This could be a possibility according to Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. Having either of these two star linemen at tackle, possibly on the same side together, would have any running back licking their chops.
Martin, who was an All-Pro guard for the second straight year and made an appearance in his second Pro Bowl, was a tackle at Notre Dame before being moved to right guard his rookie year. Martin has shown his dominance as one of the league’s best guards and lineman in his first two seasons in Dallas.
Collins, who started 11 games at left guard for the Cowboys last year, showed extreme promise for the Cowboys creating gigantic holes for Darren McFadden, having huge downfield blocks, and even beating McFadden to the end zone against Green Bay.
Looking at half of a line that consist of virtually all first round draft picks (besides Doug Free and Collins), the Cowboys have the options to move around the line, and somehow be a stronger, more dominant line, which is a scary thought for defenses league-wide.
