Josh Norman and the Carolina Panthers are about to be in a stare down. The Panthers placed the franchise tag on Norman, meaning he has the option of signing that and taking a guaranteed salary of $13.95 million this year. But the Charlotte Observer reports that Norman wants about $16 million a year on a long-term contract.

Norman wants to be the highest paid cornerback on the market, and he has every right to feel that way. He was by far the best cornerback in the league.

Norman stated he is in no hurry to get a deal done, saying he wouldn’t report to Organized Team Activities if the Panthers haven’t shown him the money.
