Dolphins are the front runners to land Mario Williams
According to Pro Football Talk, the Miami Dolphins are not done trying to build their defense. According to Mike Florio, Mario Williams and the Dolphins could have a deal done by Tuesday.
Williams was released by the Bills this past year after he failed to fit into Rex Ryan’s scheme. Williams is a stud, and a great pass rusher, but the Bills were not willing to pay him a ton of money to take plays off.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Dolphins are the clear front-runners to sign Williams. There’s currently a push to get a deal done Tuesday.
If the Dolphins sign Williams, they either will be moving on from Cameron Wake or making no effort to match an offer sheet signed by Olivier Vernon.
The Dolphins will want to keep either Cam Wake or Vernon, it just depends which player they deem as the best fit. I would not be surprised to see them let Olivier Vernon walk.
