Carolina Panthers have released veteran defensive end Charles Johnson
Today the Carolina Panthers released veteran defensive end Charles Johnson. Johnson was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Georgia.
The Panthers have released veteran DE Charles Johnson, who ranks second in team history with 63.5 sacks.

Johnson was scheduled to have a cap charge of $15.02M in 2016. His release will save Carolina about $11 million under the salary cap.
