#Cardinals coach Bruce Arians was shocked that Jermaine Gresham turned down 23 million dollars

Jermaine Gresham has an offer from the Saints, but Cardinals like him
Jermaine Gresham took way less money to stay with the Cardinals

When you have something good going, is it truly about the money?  Bruce Arians has been coaching for 22 years, and this year was something interesting for him. He had several players returning to Arizona despite having huge contract offers on the table from other teams.  Both Chris Johnson and Jermaine Gresham received tons of money, but returned at a cheaper rate.

“I was shocked,” Arians said. “I’ve only been in this about 22 years. You don’t turn down $12 million guaranteed for $2.5 million.”

Arians was talking about Gresham, who turned down multiple four-year offers, including one worth $23 million with $12 million guaranteed.

“I think it speaks for the culture of our locker room,” Arians said. “They know how close we are and they enjoyed playing with our guys, and the ring was more important than the money.”
