If Browns draft Carson Wentz he will be the highest Non-FBS QB drafted

North Dakota State University is back

North Dakota State University is back

North Dakota State University could make history again. NO, they are not winning a sixth Championship yet, but don’t count them out.  North Dakota State University quarterback Carson Wentz could become the highest Non FBS quarterback ever drafted if he is taken number 2 overall by the Browns.

The highest Non FBS quarterback taken since 1979 was Steve McNair by the Titans with the third overall pick in 1995. So do you think the Browns will make history? It sure sounds like the Browns are leaning that way.

1st-Round QBs from Non-FBS Schools

Since 1979 NFL draft:

Year Quarterback Overall pick Team School
2008 Joe Flacco No. 18 Ravens Delaware
1995 Steve McNair No. 3 Oilers Alcorn St.
1983 Ken O’Brien No. 24 Jets Cal-Davis
1979 Phil Simms No. 7 Giants Morehead St.
