Defensive Tackle

Where do you play college football?

Oregon State University

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

The coolest thing I’ve done off the field would have to be high school football every game day we would go to an old folks home and give out flowers to the elders who lived there. All of the boys and girls club activities we did were also fun where we got to interact with the kids of the Corvallis community.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Stats had to be the hardest!

Where are you from?

La Habra CA

Who is your role model, and why?

My Parents because without their support and upbringing this interview would not be possible.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Baseball and basketball before I ever played football. I have to say baseball is my first love.

Did you play any other positions in football?

High school I played only Offensive Tackle and junior college I played both Wing Back and Defensive Tackle

At your position, what separates you from others?

I have been told my work ethic and my athleticism have always been what’s separated me from others at my position and also my deceiving speed.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

 I try to look for keys or any kind of movements or tendencies that can give me an edge on what type of play is coming, run or pass.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

I give it up to Joshua Garnett offensive Guard from Stanford.

Kyle Peko1If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I would have to say Darnell Dockett fast and physical off the ball someone who could get after the QB and cause havoc in the backfield.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

I’ve dealt with a lot of loss but one tough obstacle I faced was almost losing all of my eligibility coming out of JUCO being ineligible my first season at OSU and having to make my way back and gain eligibility for my final season which I did this past year. I Overcame this with the help of my wife and my new born son giving me the best motivation anyone could ask for.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

As long as I’m listening to love songs, island reggae or old school R&B I know it will be a good game.

What is your biggest strength?

My biggest strength would have to be my athleticism for my size.

What is your biggest weakness?

 My biggest weakness would have to be staying on blocks to long.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I am 22 years I have been playing this sport for the last 9 years of my life and have dedicated a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to get where I am at today for the name on my back, and for the family that I have created my beautiful wife Giuliana and my son Kai. An Opportunity to play for your team will be the biggest blessing and I can guarantee you I would not let you down.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

The Oakland Raiders!!

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

1. My Great Grandma 2. My great Grandpa both passed on and 3. Frank Sinatra

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

Planning on saving and buying a home for my wife, son, and I.
