NFL Draft Diamonds and our staff have been bringing our readers Prospect Interviews over the past 2 years and this year we mixed up the questions and added some fun questions for our readers. We have tons of NFL staff that read our interviews, and we actually received several of the questions from NFL scouts we speak too. This gives them a little bit more information regarding your character. We hope to bring you more than 300 interviews of NFL Draft Prospects this season. You will be able to track them all on the front page of our website in the banner.
What is your name?
What is your Height/Weight?
What is your position?
Where do you play college football?
Emporia State University
Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?
I would say reading to Kindergartner’s while I attended The University of Texas. I love kids and I am great with them, so that’s always very fun thing for me to do. I also participated in Coats for Kids in high school and donated clothes to the homeless in the winter.
What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?
Where are you from?
Who is your role model, and why?
My Mother and Grandmother. Growing up my father was not around and we weren’t the wealthiest family, but they always worked hard for me to have what I wanted growing up. They also instilled the core values that I still have today and I cannot thank them enough for being strong and supporting my dreams.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
I played basketball, ran track and threw shot put and discus.
Did you play any other positions in football?
I played Running Back and Mike Linebacker in eighth grade. I played Tight End in high school and college.
At your position, what separates you from others?
My length and my speed. I’m a very long guy and I am very good at reading OL keys and have good hands. My get-off causes problem for bigger tackles and my length causes problems for quicker tackles. I can also play both sides of the ball at TE.
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
OL tendencies, splits, light or heavy hands, eyes, OL depth, formations and QB tendencies like does
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
Von Miller when I played Tight end.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
Khalil Mack. He can do it all. Very versatile athlete and I think I compare to that. He can stand up and cover and also rush from a 3 point stance. He is very explosive.
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
Losing my great grandfather in my sophomore year at Texas. He was a one of the only father figures in my life and to see him suffer from cancer was one of the hardest things I have ever had to witness. I overcame it by turning to God and having him and my family uplift me. Then I got the blessing to play football again after 2 years which helped me overcome his death because I know he was watching me play up above.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Aww man I used to but I started to kind of drift away from those towards the end of the season. I used to have to listen to a certain song before every game! I also would stretch a certain way every game too.
What is your biggest strength?
My Aggressiveness, length, speed, and hands.
What is your biggest weakness?
My footwork, and my hips
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
I would tell him my ambition and willpower will make me a legend one day, all I need is one opportunity to prove myself.
Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?
I had way too many favorite players so that would be hard to pick a favorite player, but if I had to pick it would be Ray Lewis. NFL teams growing up were the Cowboys, Houston Oilers, the Denver Broncos, and the St. Louis Rams.
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?
My great grandpa, my brother, and Jesus Christ
What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?
Small things to make sure my family is set.
- Tupac or Biggie?
- NFL Network or ESPN?
- Coke or Pepsi?
- Pizza or Burgers?
- Dogs or Cats?
