NFL Draft Diamonds Picks and Predictions; Conference Championship Week
New England Patriots v. Denver Broncos
Line: NE -3.0
O/U: 44.5
I have to go with experience in this game. I think it is going to be extremely close. With it being almost 50 degrees in Denver, the Patriots could have a field day. Tom Brady is too damn good in the playoffs, and with today’s win he will be the only player in the History of the NFL to play in 7 Super Bowls. That will be a record. It will be Bill Belichick will also be in his 7th Super Bowl, which would break Don Shula’s record. The Broncos are a feel good story, but I think Tom Brady and Bill Belichick getting handed the Lombardi Trophy by Roger Goodell who claimed they cheated is a better story. Patriots win 27-23 over the Broncos.
The Broncos are 7-2 all-time in AFC Championship games. The Patriots are 8-3 all-time in AFC Championship games.
Arizona Cardinals v. Carolina Panthers
Line: CAR -3.0
O/U: 47
I would love to see Cam Newton go to the Super Bowl, but I am not sure they can get there. They have been very conservative the past couple weeks after jumping out to a huge lead. The Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is not a conservative guy. If he gets out on front he will run it up. I think this game is very close, and comes down to a defensive battle. I think the Cardinals win by a late field goal. Cardinals win 23-20.
