Is Eric Weddle sending a message to the NFL? Did Chargers place him on I/R when he was not injured?
Eric Weddle’s time with the Chargers has been amazing, but lately the team and him are bumping heads. Weddle was placed on injured reserve with a groin injury according to the NFL transaction report, but Weddle wanted to make a point after being placed on the injured reserve. On Thursday, Weddle showed up to practice and ran sprints at full speed. Showing the reporters and the NFL that his injury was not as serious as documented.
If a team places a player on the injured reserve and he is not injured, they have committed a violation.
The refused to give him a seat on the team’s charter to Denver for the season finale, and fined him $10,000 for staying on the field at halftime to watch his daughter perform during a show with the team’s cheerleaders, Weddle started fighting back, and this is going to get ugly soon.
The Chargers should be ashamed of themselves, because Weddle was a class act in San Diego.
