Buccaneers place safety Chris Conte on injured reserve; Team promoted linebacker Darius Eubanks
The Buccaneers placed starting S Chris Conte on injured reserve Friday with a knee injury that also kept him out of last Sunday’s game against the Bears. Conte was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at California. He finished the season this year with 59 tackles and two interceptions.
For the fifth time in two weeks, the Buccaneers promoted a practice-squad player and can keep him 2016. LB Darius Eubanks, 24, who last played in the NFL with the Browns in 2013, spent much of this season on the Cowboys’ practice squad. Eubanks was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played college football at Georgia Southern. Eubanks also had a short stint with the Browns.
