Browns head coach Mike Pettine says changes will be made if he keeps his job
The Cleveland Browns are a good football team but they really need to do something with their defense. Mike Pettine might not be retained as their head coach, but if he is in fact kept as the head coach, he will have to make changes. Pettine agreed that changes needed to be made, and he sounded like those changes would come on the defensive side of the ball.
Pettine himself was a defensive minded guy, and maybe he will have to get his hands a little dirty by working with the unit.
“Those discussions will remain between Jimmy and I,” Pettine said, via Cleveland.com. “Will there likely be some changes? If I were to stay here, it would be hard to justify keeping the staff completely together, and there likely would have to be some changes made, but I won’t get into specifics.”
“We’re not going to make excuses. It is a source of frustration, disappointment and something that myself and the defensive staff show up here every day to work and get corrected. Some areas we’ve gotten better and others we haven’t,” Pettine said.
