Bengals should fired Marvin Lewis and give the keys to Hue Jackson
The Cincinnati Bengals are now 0-7 in the playoffs under Marvin Lewis. They have a man behind him that is considered a hot commodity around the NFL and let’s face it Marvin Lewis is an amazing coach, but he is not the guy that will get you over the hump. Last night was a perfect example of a meltdown. They had the game won, and not only did they lose the football, they lost their tempers, which ultimately helped them lose the game.
I am not the only one who feels Lewis should not be on the sidelines if he cannot control his team. Bengals Super Bowl winning quarterback and former NFL MVP Boomer Esiason was embarrassed by the way the team played.
“I’m a former Bengal. I’m embarrassed by the way that this game ended and by the way these guys carried themselves on the football field today,” the former NFL MVP and Super Bowl quarterback said, his voice cracking with emotion. “I feel bad for Marvin Lewis. I’ll tell you one thing, if Lewis can’t control his players, then maybe Marvin Lewis shouldn’t be on the sideline coaching that team.”
People think because he has been to the playoffs it makes him a wonderful coach, but he is barely better than .500 on his career. 112–99–2 (.531). Add in the fact he lost all 7 playoff appearances as the head coach, it is really clear to me he needs to go.
