Today the Carolina Panthers decided to move on without Wes Horton on their roster. According to the Panthers twitter feed, the team waived Wes Horton from their exempt list.  Horton had finished his suspension and was on the exempt list, as the Panthers tried to figure out what to do with him on the roster, but obviously liked what they have been getting out of Ryan Delaire and Jared Allen more than that of Horton.

With the playoffs right around the corner and the Panthers trying to hold onto their top spot in the NFC, they decided they didn’t want to have to release anyone on the roster currently to make room for Horton.

Horton had just one sack in the six games that he played this season and really failed to make an impact. I would not be surprised if someone claimed him tomorrow.
