NFL Draft Diamonds and our staff have been bringing our readers Prospect Interviews over the past 2 years and this year we mixed up the questions and added some fun questions for our readers. We have tons of NFL staff that read our interviews, and we actually received several of the questions from NFL scouts we speak too. What is your name? 

My name is Martin McCoy II

What is your Height/Weight? 

My height is 5’10” and my weight is 190lbs

What is your position? 

My position is Linebacker/Safety 

Where do you play college football? 

I played College football at Bethany College in West VA

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field? 

The coolest thing I did to give back was give money to a homeless guy. And I also gave 900$ to my girlfriend to enroll at Kent State University. 

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

The hardest college class I ever took was Statistical Methods 1 & 2. 

Where are you from? 

I’m originally from Capitol Heights, Maryland. 

Who is your role model, and why? 

My role model is my mom, because she is the reason I work so hard. I saw her struggle to take care of my brothers and I and ever since then, I told myself I will work hard to support her. 

Did you play any other sports growing up? 

Growing up I played basketball as well as football. 

Did you play any other positions in football? 

Other positions I’ve played in football were: tight end, defensive tackle and offensive line. 

At your position, what separates you from others? 

What separates me from others at my position is my physicality. I love to hit, and I am very versatile, I am also a quick learner. 

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

When I break down film, I look for tendencies in the offensive line. How their stance changes on certain plays and certain packages for plays being ran. 

Who was the toughest player you ever faced? 

The toughest player I ever faced was Ronald Darby. Mainly because of his speed. 

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why? 

If I could compare my play to an NFL player now, it would have to be Matt Elam. He can play many positions in the box and is very physical. 

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it? 

The biggest obstacle I’ve faced in my life was being kicked out of Virginia Union University in 2012 because of poor grades. I overcame it by working so I can go to Bethany in the fall as well as playing semi pro football during that summer. 

BisonDo you have any pre-game rituals? 

My pregame rituals are: listen to my game day playlist, drink water and relax. 

As a small school football player what obstacles do you feel you have to overcome?

As a small school player, the biggest obstacle of course is being overlooked. 

What is your biggest strength? 

My biggest strength is my work ethic. With my work ethic I will continue to get better and won’t let anyone outwork me. 

What is your biggest weakness? 

My biggest weakness is pass rushing. 

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say? 

I am a young man who lives for this sport, I work hard and can be an immediate impact on any team. Any role I receive such as special teams, practice squad, defense, anything. I will give 100%. 

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up? 

My favorite player growing up was Sean Taylor and my favorite team is the Redskins. 

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose? 

I’d have dinner with Sean Taylor, Ray Lewis and Cam Newton. 

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

The 1st big item will be a house for my Mom.
