Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans are promoting RB Akeem Hunt to the active roster.
The Texans waived OLB Kourtnei Brown.
Hunt ran a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day workout. He had a 37.5-inch vertical leap, a 3.96 short shuttle and a 10-2 broad jump.
Hunt finished his career with over 4,600 all-purpose yards, ranking him among the top backs in Purdue history along with Kory Sheets and Mike Alstott.
Hunt rushed for 949 yards and caught 48 passes last season for the Boilermakers. He played in the Medal of Honor Bowl at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.
