Oakland Raiders promote Shelby Harris to 53 man roster; Sign Jeremy Ross to PS
The Oakland Raiders promoted DE Shelby Harris to their active roster on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.
@RAIDERS: We have signed defensive end Shelby Harris to the active roster.
To fill Harris’ spot the Raiders signed WR Jeremy Ross. Ross was recently with the Ravens and fumbled the ball quite a bit with them.
Jeremy Ross had done well for the Baltimore Ravens through the first 8 games of the season before being waived on Tuesday along with cornerback Asa Jackson. While Ross did little as a receiver for the Ravens, only catching 9 balls for 88 yards, his best work came on special teams where he answered one of the bigger questions the Ravens had during training camp.
As a kick returner, Ross put together 7 returns for 205 yards or a 29.3 yard average. On punts, Ross had 10 returns for 109 yards. The biggest issue for Ross was the fumbles and occasional bad decisions that put the Ravens at a disadvantage.
