NFL Draft Diamonds Week 9 Picks and Predictions

Draft Diamonds LogoNFL Draft Diamonds Week 8 Picks and Predictions was a rough one. We want a lousy 8-5.  That brings our yearly total to 67-44. We are up but we want to win all our games at least once this year.

Carolina Panthers v. Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers are coming off a loss to Denver and they will not lose again.  The undefeated Panthers take the first loss of the season, when Aaron Rodgers does a good job at shredding the Panthers secondary.  Rodgers stays away from Josh Norman and still lights up the Panthers for 3 touchdowns. Packers win 34-17 to get to 7-1.

Washington Redskins v. New England Patriots

Pats win big, I am not going to comment because it should not be close. 45-10 Patriots

Tennessee Titans v. New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is playing like a man possessed. The Saints are playing very good football, and are scoring many points. Today is not a huge point affair, but the Saints win easily over Marcus Mariota and the Titans. Saints 24- Titans 17

Miami Dolphins v. Buffalo Bills

Bills are a better team than what their record says. They are beat up physically and need a big game from their defense to win.  The Dolphins on the other hand will need to establish a running game. I have this game going into overtime. I would guess 35-31 and the Bills pull it off.

St. Louis Rams v. Minnesota Vikings

The Rams are playing good football but I see the Vikings getting the best of them today. The Vikings are a sneaky good team.  Adrian Peterson is a stud, and while he may have a rough game against the Rams defensive front, but he still makes them pay in the passing game.  Vikings win 17-14.

Jacksonville Jaguars v. New York Jets

The New York Jets are banged up at the quarterback position but they are still able to pull off a win against the Yeldon-less Jaguars.  Blake Bortles comes up short in his rally to beat the Jets, and they lose 27-26 after a missed extra point.

Oakland Raiders v. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Raiders are playing great football, but I cannot go against the Steelers at home. Big Ben is too good and the Raiders secondary has a tough match-up today. Raiders lose by a field goal, 23-20.

New York Giants v. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Giants get Jason Pierre-Paul back and it ignites the G-Men.  The defense has their leader back and he goes off in his former hometown (USF).  JPP has 3 sacks in his first game back and the Giants win 34-24.

Atlanta Falcons v. San Francisco 49ers

Atlanta Falcons for FREE, Take them all day long. Blaine Gabbert is the starting quarterback this week, and I would not be surprised if Colin Kaepernick is back next week after this horrible performance. Falcons win 45-10.

Denver Broncos v. Indianapolis Colts

I would love to see the Colts pull off an upset against the Broncos, and I feel they can.  The problem is the Colts are under fire right now, and until more people are fired, I am not willing to jump on their bandwagon.  Broncos win easily 42-17 as Peyton Manning leaves to a standing ovation, and cheers to return to Indy.

Philadelphia Eagles v. Dallas Cowboys

I will not pick the Cowboys to win until they get Tony Romo back, by then it may be too late to salvage the season. The Eagles win under Chip Kelly and his ferocious defense.  Eagles win after Matt Cassel is benched for Brandon Weeden. Eagles 27-Cowboys 14

Chicago Bears v. San Diego Chargers

This game is going to be boring. Too many injuries on both sides of the football. Matt Forte is out, and everyone on the Chargers is out (That is worth watching minus Rivers).  The Chargers win at home on the grace of rookie running back Melvin Gordon.  Gordon rushes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns and the Chargers win 20-13.
